One of the leading Insurance organisation in Australia boasting market leading diversity and flexibility in the workplace.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will utilise your financial reporting and IFRS standards knowledge along with your project skills to play an instrumental part in the implementation of the new IFRS 17 insurance accounting standard.  Specific deliverable will include:
  • Mapping ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ requirements 
  • Researching changes in accounting and reporting requirements
  • Ensuring finance requirements across financial and regulatory reporting are documented 
  • Supporting solutions in response to the changes driven by new standard
  • Process mapping
  • Act as conduit between project team, finance and technology 
  • Requirements Analysis 
  • Ensuring completeness of Finance Requirements
  • Working closely with technology to ensure technical solution and implementation supports business requirements
  • Supporting testing, training and implementation 
  • Adhere to project management methodologies methodologies
  • Risk management .

This is initially a 12 month contract although the project is due to run for 18 months - 2 years

Required Skills & Experience
  • CA/CPA Qualified
  • Financial, statutory or regulatory reporting background with IFRS knowledge
  • Insurance experience
  • Experience as a finance SME in a project environment
  • Exposure to project management methodologies such as Agile (preferable)
