We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with excellent understanding of testing tools and techniques to join a growing team within the Banking & Finance Sector.
You will be working across multiple areas of a leading Bank and will be responsible for also consulting best practices from a Quality Assurance Perspective.
Having a Development background is highly regarded along with experience using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities:
- You will work with the product team, business users, vendors, operations and the Development Team to support and understand requirements and develop the appropriate test approach.
- Perform manual and automated test execution as part of functional, system, regression and usability tests
- Design test artefacts such as (but not limited to) test plans, test cases, test completion reports, lessons learnt repository
- Develop, execute, and maintain test suites for UI based as well as API based testing
- Design high-quality Test Automation Suites using a variety of based frameworks
- Design, maintain and execute API based tests using Soap UI, Postman etc.
- Test cover both API and GUI automated testing
-  More emphasis on AP level test, less emphasis on GUI level automation
- Work with developers to automate at GUI and API levels for the purposes of Continuous Improvement
- Continuous improvement to test practices
- Analyse test results, identify, document, and report root causes for test failures by working with the development team and the defect tracking system
- Identify opportunities for process, tools, and test methodology improvements, and assist in the implementation of initiatives and ideas

Required Skills:
- 8+ years working as a QA Engineer, experience in the Financial services preferred but not essential
- Ability to talk to internal stakeholders and able to advice and consult in regards to technical issues and solutions.
- A strong background in API Testing using a range of different tools.
- Good understanding of JavaScript Testing - Cypress, Cucumber 
- A Development background with a strong understanding programming in different languages (Java, C# and JavaScript)
- Experience balancing automation testing, manual testing & exploratory testing
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable
- The ability to create Test Frameworks along with attributes to design and solve technical problems

This is a 12 month contract on an excellent daily rate. This is a hybrid role - 1-2 days in the office (Sydney CBD) and 3-4 days WFH.
