  • Knowledge of site manufacturing, processes and products.

Responsibilities:
  • To schedule production and/or procure externally sourced materials in accordance with prevailing confirmed customer demand, ensuring material availability at finished goods warehouse.
  • To effectively communicate the production and/or procurement schedule and any issues arising from it, to the production, customer care and sales departments.
  • Day to day planning skills to keep track of, and prioritise process orders and/or purchase orders.
  • Extensive planning and organisational skills to meet and satisfy customer demand over extended periods of time.
  • To make scheduling and/or procurement decisions that will impact customer orders and company stocking policies.
  • Day to day planning skills to ensure that raw materials, packaging and PFR products (where required) will be available in time to meet production requirements. Such materials can be required from production areas, warehouses and off-site suppliers.
  • To continually devise and create improvements to systems and ways of working to improve efficiency and the speed of delivery of information from the department.
  • Communicate and support the QC department regarding possible material for rework and production and/or procurement changes.
  • To attend and play a key role in contributing planning issues in daily and weekly meetings, providing key commercial information in meetings to improve the efficiency and running of the plants and/or procurement process.
  • Execute actions for blocked, slow moving stock and rework as advised by QC.
  • Continually review the production schedule to ensure all forward demands are being met and take appropriate action to add, move or cancel production and/or purchases to minimise working capital.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints.
  • Using MRP review proposed output and make decisions on the viability of turning planned order and/or purchase requistiong requirements into firm process orders and/or purchase orders.
  • Ensure product compatibility is maintained and washouts between production batches is minimised to avoid off-spec production.
  • Respond in a timely manner to Escalations taking action to schedule new production if required.
  • Effectively communicate the production schedule and any issues arising from it to production, customer service, sales, and manager.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs in Mathematics and English (grade C or above).
  • Knowledge of site manufacturing, processes and products.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP processes in the Sales & Distribution and Production Planning modules.
  • Competent user of MS Office packages.
  • Ability to complete tasks to tight deadlines
  • Participated in improvement projects
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language.
