Responsibilities:
  • First point of contact for all users on site and show a customer friendly attitude to a wide range of users from factory operators to directors and executives, representing Group IT positively. Good communication skills needed to deal with peer group around Europe and colleagues in all disciplines on site. 
  • Perform as IT Technician on the site cover renewal and problem solving of PC's, laptops, servers, Microsoft Office and E-mail and all related activity to support the Local IT systems to a high level of user service and satisfaction. The role carries a high level of impact involving support up to 250 users on the site
  • Local communication with all users for call reception and call logging in central Helpdesk tool
  • Resolve problems with PC software and hardware, according to Group IT policies & standards; root cause analysis is important;
  • Support the network and local systems for process automation, payroll, time & attendance, and local databases in support of local processes such as safety incident registration, local audit/ISO needs, holiday registration, complaints processes, etc.
  • Look at improvements for IT systems and processes which requires creative and innovative input to site management
  • Work with Site Support Team Leader on site projects which could vary from local infrastructure or system upgrades (e.g. manufacturing system) to Group IT driven changes to core services like e-mail. implementing new telephone switchboard, network upgrade, new e-mail system, upgrade of factory system, PC refresh, a wide scale of activities.
  • Involves well developed problem solving skills and an ability to make decisions on a routine technical nature to deal with issues which arise within a complex IT network.
  • Provide annual IT budget for the site of responsibility and to create capexes for IT refresh and local IT projects.
  • There is a requirement to be on call at times, travel away from home and show a high degree of flexibility
Requirements:
  • 3 years’ experience of technical IT Support; candidates with network experience will have advantage
  • Familiar with Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewall configuration. CCNA is an advantage.
  • Familiar with ITIL v3 & certified in ITIL foundations.
  • Business English and fluent local-language speaker.
  • Pleased to work in a multi cultural environment with IT contacts all over Europe.
  • Needs to be a team player and have sufficient interpersonal skills.
