As a key underpinning contributor to the success of the transformation, the university is looking for an experienced Head of Architecture to uplift the team and create an architecture practice that will provide strategic direction along with strong and right-sized governance. 
 
The Head of Architecture will be responsible for developing a practice that will provide meaningful change and impact by implementing contemporary best practices, driving digital adoption and innovation, and creating a collaborative and supportive culture befit of one of the world's most dynamic and innovative universities.
 
The Role:
The Head of Architecture is responsible for ensuring that university operations and strategies are enabled by an efficiently curated, well-articulated, well designed, secure and robust technology landscape.
 
A key authoritative advisor to the CIO, leveraging their rich expertise, experience and influencing skills, they will be a pivotal bridge between customers, business leaders, and IT. They will be a driving force behind understanding the needs of students, the academic community and professional staff. Building and leading a best-in-class architecture practice, they will ensure the establishment of a rationalised architecture that offers a sector-leading digital experience that manages cyber, technology, financial, and business risk appropriately.
 
The Head of Architecture will be a driving force in the determining and designing a lean digital environment that satisfies strategic needs of the university.

Experience needed for the position:
  • Extensive experience and success working in similar roles within large complex organisations
  • Proven experience in lifting an organisation’s architectural maturity
  • Experience driving and contributing to organisational change and transformation
  • Experience building strategic technology plans and roadmaps
  • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modelling, benchmarking, and financial analysis
  • Ability to make enterprise architecture work in a fast paced and increasingly digital environment
  • Ability to think big and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refreshes and hype
  • Strong leadership skills, with the proven experience coaching and mentoring
