Organisation: 
Ethos BeathChapman are partnering with a prominent ASX-listed financial services company. A digital banking group that aims to provide a genuine alternative for Australian financial services customers.

Location: Brisbane

Job purpose: 
As the Financial Accountant, you will sit within the Group’s financial control team, and will be responsible for ensuring the Bank’s financial reporting requirements are met. Your primary focus will be on the monthly and annual financial accounting for the Group and subsidiaries, combined with the day-to-day activities for the finance function.

Role type: Fixed term contract - 3 months

Key deliverables:
  • Group’s month-end close process including reviewing the Group’s monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify improvements and standardisation of existing processes to drive efficiency and enhance controls.
  • Assisting Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers in ensuring that the Bank meets its management and statutory reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with the Group’s Half Year and Full Year statutory reporting.
  • Work collaboratively to meet group deadlines.

Key skills and experience:
  • This role is ideally suited to international candidates currently in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • 3+ years accounting experience as a Financial Accountant in the Finance industry.
  • Ideally suited to a Big 4 Chartered Accountant (Senior Accountant level and above) seeking their first move into industry.
  • Group Financial Control experience highly regarded.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all levels of staff.
