Our client is a leading investment management group and employer of choice.  They are currently undergoing a major business transformation program and as such require a Project Manager with an accounting and finance background to deliver the finance tream of the project.  

Reporting into the Program Manager you will work with Finance Business Analysts & Technology Implementation team to deliver a detailed Implementation Plan including business implementation and verification steps, and manage business implementation activities. Specifically you will focus on:

  • Successful delivery of Finance changes to agreed scope, time, cost and quality including
  • End to end management of the finance stream in accordance with Project Governance and Methodologies, Project Competencies and Change management Framework.
  • Establish and manage effective project operations to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Control, manage and report issues, risks, dependencies and changes in scope.
  • Prepare project budget and stage gate approvals
  • Track and report project financials for the finance stream in line with the program
  • Develop and manage engagement with IT teams as required
  • Lead, develop and coach teams to meet project deliverables
  • Apply and adhere to the Bank’s methodologies, tools and standards.
This role sits on a large multi year program and will be 6 month rolling daily rate contract likely to go on for up to 2 years

Required skills and experience:

  • CA or CPA qualification (highly desirable)
  • Experience in investment management, banking or FS industry (required)
  • Recent experience in working in large, complex financial services organisations.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a Project Manager working within medium to large projects
  • Hands on experience managing testing and implementation
  • Experience in core Finance system change including General Ledger, Data Warehouse, & Reporting tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office applications including Visio and Project
  • Exposure to Agile project delivery and tools
  • Experience in leading and supervising business analysts/project resources.
