  • Fast-growing, successful, solar energy equipment wholesale business, expanding into Europe with a B2B/e-Commerce model. Private Equity owned.
  • Currently a small number of staff based in Europe – mainly sales, one HR and an incoming Finance Manager
  • They are setting up sales channels in the Netherlands, Poland, France & Germany, growing quickly.
  • They see opportunities for service expansion and geographical expansion.
  • Location for European HQ is not confirmed but likely to be in Germany or the Netherlands

The Role:

The postholder will be the CEO’s “right hand” in Europe will focus on:
  • Cashflow & reporting
  • Setting up relationships with banks, auditors and other third parties
  • Broader commercial responsibilities if the candidate has the skills/experience/personality
  • Perhaps some M&A work
  • Talking to investors about financing
  • Running, growing & improving the existing finance function


  • Someone eager who wants to build something and grow with the company
  • Entrepreneurial - understands hard work will be required, including early morning calls with overseas offices
  • Someone who has built a finance function from scratch or at least a low base
  • Someone prepared to travel & spend time with the team as it grows
  • Experience of physical product business (not necessarily energy related)
  • eCom approach experience
  • Low margin product experience
