This opportunity would suit a risk assurance, internal audit or line 1 risk professional who is looking to work on an a Risk uplift project for the rest of the year taking them up to Christmas. There is a potential for the role to be converted to perm to focused on BAU work but it is not guaranteed.

The project team this role sits within has 4 members currently and they are hiring 2 more.  It is a Risk uplift focusing on regulatory obligations. The team asses the different business units, look at the controls they currently have and those that are missing. They then document this, test the controls that are in place for suitability and help to work with the business to implement controls where they are lacking.

Role Responsibilities
  • Document control test plans and methodologies for controls across Super & Retirement and Platforms businesses with consideration of the obligations, controls, processes.
  • Conduct periodic testing of the design and operating effectiveness of controls through conducting walk-throughs with the business and review of documentation, ensuring compliance with the Controls Assurance standard.
  • Develop observations and formulating recommendations to enhance the control environment.
  • Conduct thematic reviews and deep dives across key high priority areas and risks.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed documentation of control testing and outcomes within the GRC system.
  • Review the control environment to identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Prepare reports on outcomes of control testing and reviews and provide insightful input into risk reporting on the findings and implications of controls assurance outcomes.
  • Engage with Line 2 ERM and Line 3 Internal Audit in relation to control testing conducted by the first line.
Role Requirements
  • Advanced competencies for the role and 5+yrs experience in financial services and/or assurance knowledge in order to effectively and efficiently design and execute controls testing plans
  • Experienced at facilitating walk through meetings and presenting information and solutions to business and control owners
  • Advance stakeholder management experience and influencing skills
  • Financial Services experience in Audit practice or industry (desirable)
  • Relevant industry and other professional qualifications, e.g. CA, CISA, CIA, CFA, FRM, MBA (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline (desirable)
