We ae looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join a leading organisation within the financial services to help  work across various projects across Digital Team. Projects can vary in size and complexity, ranging from a single application, to a portfolio of applications, to a full program.
You will help support the implementation of best practice processes and Identify opportunities to drive innovation in test automation
 
Focus areas 

Initial engagement with project and or test management to understand how test automation best fits with the project’s delivery methodology and develop a test automation strategy
Work with a range of stakeholders, inclusive of project management, test management, product owners, scrum masters, BAs, developers, other functional testers to embed automation practices within the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with stakeholders to determine the scope of automation to derive best value
Develop and execute automated tests using the Enterprise Framework and a range of technologies, including:
  • Browser
  • Web Services
  • Native Mobile
  • Headless Browsers
Continuous reporting of meaningful results and statistics to stakeholders – understanding what level of information is relevant to different types of stakeholders
Continuous improvement of automation framework and capabilities
 
Skills and behaviours
  • Proven experience in quickly understanding an application, developing appropriate test cases at System and SIT levels and highlighting appropriate candidates for automation
  • Solid track record of identifying and driving initiatives to enhance a team’s test automation capability 
  • Expert experience with implementing test automation within large, complex programs of work
  • Expert test automation experience on Web Apps, Web Services and Mobile Apps
  • Expert level experience with development of test automation scripts which encompass best practice coding approach, test data management, source code management, test execution, reporting and analysis. 
  • Solid knowledge of programming in an Object-Oriented Language (for the purposes of embedding complex logic in test automation scripts)
  • Expert level experience with Continuous Testing pipeline using Jenkins (or similar tool) for build orchestration and execution, and GitLab for source code management. Candidates should be able to explain in detail how a CI pipeline for automation would be used in conjunction with test automation scripts. 
  • Experience in Agile and understand the principles of Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, E2E UI and API test automation.
Experience required
  • 5+ years previous experience as a test automation engineer developing scripts for both web and mobile (iOS and Android)
  • Experience in delivering test automation in Financial environments (preferred)
  • This is a daily rate contract role until the end of the year - ASAP start.
