The Role:

Leading insurance firm is seeking a talented Accountant to join their Accounting Policy Group. This role is initially a 12 months contract.  Working with a dynamic team, the company is experiencing huge growth, so an exciting time to join. 

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Works as part of a team in establishing and updating the accounting policies for the company, ensuring the adoption of new standards and general application of accounting standards are in compliance with IFRS
  • Researching, solutioning and documenting accounting policy treatment and conclusion for recurring and non-recurring transactions in accordance with Group accounting policy and IFRS
  • Involved in expense calculation under various share-based compensation scheme of the company and liaise with external service provider to ensure proper recognition of share-based compensation expenses under IFRS
  • Support and liaise with external service provider in system implementation for various share-based compensation scheme of the company
  • Support and assist in preparing the IFRS quarterly reporting for an investment in associate, and corresponding equity accounting to be recorded by the company
  • Act as the focal communication point and gather all the breakdown and supporting documents requested for the purpose of IFRS quarterly reporting and ensure proper filing of documents in the data exchange platform

 
Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant with at least [6] years of Accounting/ Finance experience from insurance/ banking/ finance industry with investment accounting background
  • Knowledge in share-based compensation/business combination/ Purchase GAAP accounting and equity accounting
  • Good project management skills with strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Proactive with good interpersonal skills who can work independently to deliver results as well as in a team setting
  • Works well under high pressure
  • Broad insurance or financial services experiences preferred
  • Hands-on experiences and knowledge in IFRS and auditing technical proficiency
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Experience in handling massive data and use of excel
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Business travel when needed
