We are seeking an experienced Technology Risk Director – Line 1 to establish and lead the Data Analytics (DA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Risk Function for a leading ASX-listed Financial Services Group.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the organisation's first-line technology risk capability, providing strategic leadership across AI governance, data analytics risk and emerging technology risk. You will partner closely with Executive Leadership, Technology, Data, Cyber Security, Legal, Compliance, Audit and Risk to embed a robust governance framework that enables innovation while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities
Establish and lead the Line 1 Data Analytics and AI Risk function, risk and oversight.
Apply and execute, continually enhance the enterprise AI and Data Analytics Risk Management Framework.
Lead Risk & Control Self-Assessment and assurance engagements with risk and control owners, ensuring work is well scoped, planned and delivered to a high standard, and produces reliable, high-quality management information on risks, controls, issues and actions.
Provide strategic oversight of technology risk across AI, machine learning, automation, cloud, and emerging technologies.
Embed risk management practices throughout the technology and data lifecycle.
Lead the assessment of technology and AI risks associated with new products, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and third-party providers.
Establish meaningful risk metrics, KRIs, reporting, and executive dashboards for technology, cyber, data, and AI risk.
Provide expert advice to Executive Committees, Risk Committees, and the Board on technology and AI-related risks.

Skills & Experience
Experience applying the European Union AI Act within a regulated environment is essential, including translating legislative requirements into governance, policies, controls, and operational practices.
Exposure to other frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or AI/ML/GenAI, blockchain, quantum computing, open banking experience will be a distinct advantage.
Senior leadership experience in Technology Risk, Operational Risk, Information Security, or Enterprise Risk within financial services.
Strong understanding of AI, GenAI, cloud technologies, cyber security, data governance, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies.
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
