Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a respected Australian insurance organisation to appoint a Supplier Management & Governance Lead within a high-profile enterprise procurement and risk function.
This is a newly elevated role focused on strengthening supplier governance, third-party risk management and operational resilience frameworks in line with evolving prudential standards, including APRA CPS 230. Working across procurement, risk, legal, technology and business leadership teams, you will play a critical role in shaping enterprise-wide supplier governance capability and driving best-practice third-party oversight.
This opportunity will suit an experienced governance, procurement or operational risk professional who enjoys working across complex stakeholder environments and influencing senior leaders on supplier risk, resilience and control effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enhance the organisation’s supplier management and third-party governance framework
- Establish and manage governance forums, reporting frameworks and executive-level oversight processes
- Maintain and oversee material service provider registers and supplier governance activities
- Drive CPS 230-aligned supplier risk management processes, controls and reporting
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Cyber Security and Technology stakeholders on supplier governance matters
- Provide constructive challenge and oversight regarding supplier resilience, controls and risk management
- Develop and improve policies, procedures, templates and governance artefacts
- Oversee supplier risk assessment processes, reporting and data quality
- Support Board and Executive Committee reporting requirements
- Lead Modern Slavery governance activities and annual reporting obligations
- Support internal and external audit activities and regulatory reviews
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in supplier management, procurement governance, operational risk or third-party risk management
- Strong understanding of APRA CPS 230 or similar prudential/regulatory frameworks
- Experience developing governance frameworks, policies and operational processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability across business and executive audiences
- High-quality written communication skills, including Board-level reporting
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, including advanced Excel skills
- Experience within regulated environments such as insurance, banking, superannuation or financial services will be highly regarded
- Exposure to operational resilience, business continuity or outsourcing governance frameworks is advantageous
