Our client is a well-established and highly regarded financial services organisation seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join their Risk & Compliance team. Reporting into a senior risk leader, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing expert guidance, challenge, and oversight across operational and non-financial risk management activities.
As the Senior Operational Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation's Operational Risk Management Framework. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure risks are effectively identified, assessed, monitored, and managed in line with regulatory requirements and organisational risk appetite.
This role offers broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders on key risk initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational risk advisory, challenge, and oversight to business stakeholders.
Support the implementation and embedding of the Operational Risk Management Framework across the organisation.
Facilitate risk assessments, control reviews, risk event management, and ongoing monitoring activities.
Assist with regulatory compliance obligations, including APRA-related requirements and risk reporting.
Prepare and contribute to Board, Executive, and Risk Committee reporting.
Support the identification, assessment, and escalation of material risk events and emerging risks.
Partner with stakeholders to enhance risk awareness and promote a strong risk culture.
Deliver risk training and guidance to business teams.
Contribute to business continuity, resilience, and risk management initiatives.
Assist with risk systems administration, process improvement activities, and reporting enhancements.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, compliance, internal audit, or risk consulting within financial services or a regulated environment.
Strong understanding of operational risk and non-financial risk management frameworks.
Knowledge of APRA prudential standards, particularly CPS 220 and CPS 230, will be highly regarded.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to draw meaningful insights from data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of an organisation.
Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, risk management, law, commerce, or a related discipline.
