A leading Sydney based University is seeking an experienced Portfolio Planning Manager to support enterprise IT investment planning, initiative intake and portfolio governance across a large and complex digital delivery environment. This role sits within the IT Project Delivery function and will play a key role in shaping new initiatives, coordinating governance activities and providing visibility across the enterprise delivery pipeline.

The position would suit a strong Senior Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Planning Lead, Strategic Senior Business Analyst or Portfolio Governance professional who is comfortable operating across executive stakeholders, architecture teams and delivery functions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage intake, assessment and shaping of new investment initiatives
  • Lead discovery and requirements gathering with business stakeholders
  • Coordinate architecture reviews and governance activities
  • Support prioritisation discussions and portfolio planning activities
  • Develop high-level cost estimates and funding profile insights
  • Maintain visibility across the initiative and investment pipeline
  • Provide portfolio reporting and insights to CIO and senior leadership
  • Operate as the link between business demand, architecture and delivery governance
Ideal background:
  • Prior experiencein a Senior Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Planning Lead, Strategic Senior Business Analyst or Portfolio Governance role
  • Experience in portfolio planning, demand management or investment governance environments
  • Strong discovery, stakeholder engagement and business case shaping capability
  • Experience working across enterprise IT portfolios and governance frameworks
  • Comfortable engaging senior executives and presenting insights clearly
  • Strong communication, facilitation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on
  • Experience working in the higher education sector will be highly regarded
