Ethos BC is partnering with a leading Australian financial services organisation to appoint a Senior Manager, Financial Crime Oversight on an initial 12-month day rate contract.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Financial Crime, Risk or Compliance professional to join a highly regarded second line function and play a critical role in providing independent oversight and challenge across the organisation's financial crime framework during a period of ongoing regulatory change and business transformation.
Working closely with senior executives and risk stakeholders, you will provide oversight across AML/CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud and scams, tax transparency and broader financial crime risk management.
The Role
As a key member of the Financial Crime Oversight team, your responsibilities will include:
Providing independent second line oversight and challenge across financial crime risk management activities.
Reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of financial crime controls, frameworks and governance processes.
Conducting thematic reviews, risk assessments and deep-dive oversight activities.
Influencing and challenging first line stakeholders on risk, control and compliance matters.
Monitoring financial crime incidents, emerging risks and remediation activities.
Supporting critical business initiatives, regulatory change programs and strategic projects from a financial crime perspective.
Preparing insights, reporting and recommendations for senior leadership and governance committees.
Partnering with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Business teams to strengthen the control environment.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
Demonstrated experience within Financial Crime, Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs or a related discipline.
Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF obligations and broader financial crime risk frameworks.
Experience operating within a complex and highly regulated financial services environment.
Proven ability to provide independent challenge, influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex risk issues.
Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
The ability to balance risk management outcomes with commercial and operational considerations.
Highly Regarded
Experience within banking, wealth management or broader financial services.
Exposure to Financial Crime Oversight, Compliance Monitoring, Risk Assurance or Controls Testing activities.
Knowledge of emerging Australian AML/CTF reform initiatives and regulatory expectations.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline.
