Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a well‑established and trusted insurance organisation
to appoint an experienced Senior Legal Counsel
on a 12‑month contract.
This is a senior, hands‑on in‑house role supporting a growing insurance portfolio, working closely with executive and senior stakeholders. The position suits a lawyer who is comfortable operating autonomously while remaining commercial, pragmatic and outcomes‑focused.
Key responsibilities
Providing legal advice across commercial, regulatory and customer‑facing matters
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial and supplier agreements
Reviewing and advising on customer and product documentation, disclosures and marketing material
Supporting business stakeholders with practical, commercially‑sound legal guidance
Contributing to governance, stakeholder reporting and internal capability uplift, including legal training
About you
Admitted lawyer with 7+ years’ post‑admission experience
Background in insurance and/or broader financial services, gained in‑house and/or private practice
Strong experience advising on commercial contracts and regulatory matters
Confident operating at both strategic and operational
levels
Clear communicator with sound judgement and the ability to manage complex issues independently
