The position will take ownership of the local risk framework, with a clear mandate to strengthen oversight, enhance processes, and support ongoing growth.

The Role

You will take ownership of the local risk landscape, working across operational, regulatory and strategic risk. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and embedding risk frameworks and controls aligned to global standards
  • Delivering risk reporting to senior stakeholders, including insights on risk appetite and emerging exposures
  • Supporting operational resilience through continuous monitoring and improvement of risk processes
  • Partnering across the business to ensure risk is embedded in decision-making and product development
  • Overseeing compliance with regulatory obligations, including governance, market conduct and oversight of financial promotions
  • Leading monitoring and assurance activities, including audits and issue remediation
  • Acting as the local subject matter lead on data protection, including privacy oversight and risk assessments
About You
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience across risk management within financial services or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks and the practical application of controls in a commercial environment.
  • Confident operating in a standalone or lean team structure with a high degree of accountability.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and practical insights.
  • Exposure to regulatory environments and working with compliance obligations.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. FRM, PRM or similar) are advantageous.
MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT
Why Apply
  • Immediate scope and ownership in a growing, fast-paced environment
  • Broad role covering risk, compliance and data protection
  • Strong likelihood of extension or conversion to a permanent position
