Ethos BeathChapman is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a prominent General Insurer, to appoint an Operational Risk Manager into the business.

Be a part of a leading General insurer known for their innovative, partnership driven approach working with some of the country's most recognised brands to deliver a wide range of insurance solutions from motor insurance to specialty products.

This is a key role within the Risk Management team, sitting firmly in the second line of defence. You will be a critical part in strengthening operational risk practices, shaping risk cultures and support the organisation through risk transformation.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll provide practical and commercially focused risk advice helping the organisatoin navigate through regulatory complexity while staying aligned to its risk apatite.

You can expect a varied day-to-day to include;

- Embedding and evolving the operational risk management framework
- Partnering with the business to provide clear, pragmatic risk guidance Reviewing and challenging first line risk activity to identify emerging and systemic risks
-Supporting major transformation initiatives and third-party risk oversight
-Driving improvements across key operational risk areas such as business continuity, fraud, and people risk
-Contributing to Board and Committee reporting, policies, and training
- Helping uplift and embed a strong, proactive risk culture
The ideal candidate will have a strong general insurance operational risk background and the ability to balance strong governance with commercial realities and the ability to influence stakeholders within the organisation.

You will bring

Solid operational risk experience within insurance or financial services (general insurance highly regarded)
Strong knowledge of APRA CPS 220, CPS 230 and broader regulatory frameworks Experience supporting or overseeing risk in transformation or change programs
The ability to translate complex risk issues into clear, actionable advice
Strong communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and high attention to detail
