Lead / Principal Designer – Public Sector Digital Transformation (Singapore)

Contract Type:

Permanent

Location:

Singapore, Singapore

Date Published:

10-Jul-2026

Salary:

We're working with Singapore government agencies on large-scale digital transformation programmes that are reshaping how public officers, businesses, and citizens interact with government services. These are multi-year, system-level initiatives — moving legacy processes onto integrated, modern platforms.

We're looking for senior design leaders to shape experience strategy and drive design outcomes at a programme level, working closely with product, engineering, operations, and policy stakeholders.

What you'll be doing
  • Own the end-to-end experience vision across complex, multi-stakeholder systems — ensuring key user journeys are coherent, usable, and consistent across products and touchpoints
  • Translate complex policy, technical, and operational challenges into clear design vision, principles, and direction
  • Establish and evolve design standards, frameworks, and quality bars across the programme — from discovery through delivery and post-launch iteration
  • Lead discovery research (interviews, workshops, usability testing) and translate insights into actionable design strategy
  • Build and steward reusable design systems/patterns that let teams scale solutions faster
  • Strengthen measurement frameworks to demonstrate design's impact on user outcomes and operational performance
  • Mentor and develop designers, building internal design capability and a strong, collaborative design culture
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and policy to align design decisions with organizational goals

What we're looking for
  • 8–15+ years of experience in UX/service/product design or design strategy, with a track record of leading end-to-end design from discovery through delivery at scale
  • Experience in regulated or complex environments (government, healthcare, financial services) strongly preferred
  • Strong systems/service design thinking — comfortable connecting user needs, operations, policy, and technology
  • Experience building design capability, standards, or practices that scale across an organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, Miro, and project management tools (e.g. Jira)
  • Strong grounding in design principles, typography, and accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills
  • Genuine motivation to work on public-good, public-sector impact at scale
