This role sits within the central Finance organisation of a large technology company operating multiple consumer platforms. The team owns the finance data function end to end: building and operating scalable infrastructure for ingestion, transformation and warehousing through resilient ETL pipelines, and shipping internal web tools that let stakeholders reach and work with the data for reporting and analysis. You'll help turn high-volume operational data into reliable, analysis-ready information that finance and the business depend on.
What you'll do
- Pull data from a range of source systems, clean it, and land it into the warehouse
- Model warehouse structures and author ETL pipelines; ship and maintain data jobs across a mixed technology stack
- Investigate slow or failing jobs, trace the underlying cause, and tune for throughput
- Partner with analysts and downstream users to translate their needs into stable, reusable data services and frameworks
- Work alongside platform engineers on shared data-engine and platform capabilities
- Keep data, code and documentation aligned with governance and compliance requirements
What we're looking for
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics or a related field
- Comfortable in at least one of Python, Scala or Java
- Hands-on with at least one distributed processing framework: PySpark, Hadoop or Flink
- Working knowledge of Linux and shell scripting
- Self-directed, strong ownership, genuine interest in data tooling and new tech
- Clear communicator who works well in a team
- Git experience is a plus
