We are currently partnering with a NSW Government agency to source two experienced Data Analysts to support performance reporting and data governance initiatives. This is a short-term contract supporting critical data analysis and reporting activities across sensitive service delivery data sets.

In this role, you will undertake advanced data development, analysis and reporting to support service delivery, performance monitoring and reform initiatives. Working within a collaborative analytics environment, you will provide analytical insights, contribute to data asset development and support evidence-based decision making aligned to government priorities.

Key responsibilities
  • Retrieve, validate and prepare complex datasets
  • Develop and run reporting outputs within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments
  • Perform data wrangling, transformation and quality assurance activities
  • Produce statistical analysis including frequency tables and distribution insights
  • Support development of performance measures and reporting frameworks
  • Prepare data sets for geospatial analysis and collaborate with ESRI specialists
  • Ensure alignment with data governance standards, suppression requirements and privacy considerations
Skills and experience
  • Strong SQL capability including complex querying across large data sets
  • Experience working with BigQuery or similar large-scale data platforms
  • Exposure to Google Analytics data sets
  • Demonstrated experience in Data governance, data validation, preparation and quality management
  • Understanding of working with sensitive government or social datasets
  • Experience supporting reporting, analytics or performance frameworks
  • Exposure to geospatial data and ESRI-compatible data structures will be advantageous
  • Sound statistical analysis capability
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Working With Children Check
  • Previous NSW Government or public sector experience highly regarded
