This is a fantastic opportunity for an actuarial pricing specialist with general insurance pricing experience who enjoys balancing technical modelling, pricing governance, portfolio insights, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a critical role in ensuring pricing models remain robust, compliant, and commercially effective, while providing valuable insights that influence underwriting and portfolio management decisions. Working closely with Pricing Actuaries, Underwriting Leaders, and senior stakeholders, you'll contribute to the development of pricing capability and help drive sustainable portfolio performance.
As an Actuarial Pricing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing models, supporting pricing governance frameworks, delivering large-risk pricing solutions, and providing meaningful analysis on rate adequacy and portfolio performance.
You will also play a key role in governance activities, regulatory reporting, audits, and pricing reviews, helping ensure adherence to internal standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and maintain pricing models in line with Divisional Pricing Standards.
- Provide individual risk pricing support for complex and large commercial risks.
- Deliver robust management reporting and analysis relating to rate adequacy and portfolio performance.
- Produce monthly pricing governance reports, trackers and exhibits.
- Participate in Rate Adequacy Working Group meetings and provide analytical insights to support decision-making.
- Conduct reviews of actuarial pricing models to ensure compliance with internal governance requirements.
- Support pricing governance audits and independently validate model outputs and data integrity.
- Lead governance reviews while mentoring and supporting junior team members.
- Partner closely with Underwriting teams on portfolio management, budgeting, remediation activities and strategic initiatives.
- Support divisional and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Pricing and Model Office teams to improve pricing platforms and processes.
- Contribute to projects focused on pricing innovation, model optimisation and governance enhancement
- Actuarial qualification or significant progress towards qualification.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in General Insurance Pricing, ideally within short-tail pricing.
- Experience developing and enhancing Risk Premium Models and Generalised Linear Models (GLMs).
- Strong understanding of pricing governance and rate adequacy principles
- Experience with Python
- Exposure to Earnix would be highly regarded.
