About the role:

Our client is well regarded national brand in Financial Planning and Advisory. An exciting opportunity has become available to join their high performing team as the Senior Risk Manager, to support the Chief Risk Officer in uplifting the risk maturity across the group.
 
This role provides pathway to senior leadership within the organisation, with the opportunity to build out their own team.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Be the driver in the implementation of Operational Risk Management Policy and support procedures and plans.
  • Create and update risk profiles and run risk workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Ensure the risk and controls mapping is up to date.
  • Provide risk management information, guidance, advice, and reports that can be relied by Senior Management and the Risk Committee.
  • Build, maintain and foster relationships with senior leaders to negotiate, influence and build consensus.
  • Lead, enhance and embed a positive and proactive risk culture.

Knowledge, skills & experience:
  • 5+ years in a Risk, Compliance or Audit role within the Banking and Finance industry.
  • Proven experience in applying AS/NZS ISO 31000: 2018 risk management guidelines.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new concepts and information and deliver positive and innovative solutions with tangible business outcomes.
  • Previous risk advisory support to Line 1 business unit teams would be highly regarded.
