As a crucial member of the Compliance team nationally, this role will assist the Compliance Manager and Head of Risk & Compliance to provide first-hand risk and compliance support / advice to the Melbourne branch, in particular in the area of AML/CTF compliance.


Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and maintaining of Risk & Compliance Policies and Procedures.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and monitoring, help maintain the Compliance Monitoring Program.
  • Facilitate risk and compliance workshops.
  • Assist the management in reviewing risk events and compliance breaches, escalate to the Head of Risk & Compliance if necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining the branch’s RCSA register.
  • Handle Financial Crime Compliance matters which include AMLCTF, KYC, Sanctions, FATCA, CRS from the Business Units.
  • Assist the Business Managers with reviewing draft TTR/SMR submissions and IFTI reporting.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the bank actions accordingly, prepare and deliver training to branch staff.
  • Review and challenge the business continuity arrangements.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and semi-annually Risk and Compliance reports to the Committee, Management and Head Office

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications ideally from business, commerce, law or accounting.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience within Financial Services Risk & Compliance Management.
  • The ability to work unsupervised, as well as provide input in a team environment.
  • A keen eye for details and the ability to work against tight deadlines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements from APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC, particularly to foreign ADI's.
  • Ability to comprehend Mandarin Chinese is highly advantageous.
