A major success story in the Australian Financial Services sector, my client, due to continued growth across their Australian business, is looking to recruit a high calibre Assistant (Financial) Accountant to assist in the delivery of financial reporting, management reporting and tax compliance for the Australian business.

Your key responsibilities will include:    
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly profit and loss, balance sheet reports and Cashflow forecast;
  • Assist with preparing quarterly BAS, Company Tax Return, QTFN and Annual Investment Income Report;
  • Assist the Finance Manabger with the consolidation of financial reporting schedules as per the Head Office requirements 
  • Assisting with year-end audit, the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts;
  • Consult and develop technical papers in respect of new business initiatives 
  • Drive process and system change on an ad-hoc basis   

Key requirements for the role include:
  • CA / CPA (part or newly qualified);
  • Circa 1-3 years experience gained in the following areas:
    • External Audit/Business Services working for a Chartered Accounting firm 
    • A hands-on Assistant Accountant/Graduate Accountant role in either a financial services or commercial business;
  • A willingness to immerse yourself in the detail and learn the business from the ground up;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiasm and a positive attitude;
