The Role
Our client is a leading REIT management company with a diversified portfolio of commercial, industrial, retail, and logistics assets. We are seeking an experienced and proactive  Group Compliance & Data Protection Officer  to lead our compliance and data protection functions across the Group. This is a strategic role that will work closely with senior management, business units, and external stakeholders to foster a strong culture of integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Singapore Exchange (SGX), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Review and update compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and testing programmes.
  • Provide regulatory advice and guidance to business stakeholders on compliance-related matters.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks, including AML/CFT, personal data protection, and market conduct requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the REIT and its operations.
  • Serve as the Group's appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws in all jurisdictions where the Group operates.
  • Develop and maintain data protection policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Advise business units on privacy-by-design principles and data handling practices.

Requirements
  • Degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accountancy, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of compliance, regulatory, risk, audit, or legal experience within REITs, real estate funds, asset management, financial services, or listed companies.
  • Strong understanding of MAS regulations, SGX Listing Rules, REIT regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with AML/CFT and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
