The Opportunity

Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a highly regarded and purpose-driven institutional investor to recruit an Associate Director, Operational Risk & Compliance.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing organisation at a formative stage, where you will play a key role in shaping and embedding risk frameworks across a complex investment environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk & Compliance, you will provide specialist advice and assurance across enterprise, strategic and investment risk. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to uplift risk maturity, embed controls, and drive a strong risk culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clear, practical risk advice across strategic, enterprise and investment activities
Partner with business units to identify, assess and manage risk exposures
Support investment teams on compliance requirements (including AML/CTF due diligence)
Design and implement risk frameworks, policies and controls
Lead or support controls assurance programs and audit engagements
Deliver high-quality reporting for senior management and Board oversight
Contribute to risk uplift initiatives, including governance and technology-enabled solutions
Champion a strong, proactive risk and compliance culture

About You

5+ years’ experience in operational risk, compliance, or assurance roles
Background in financial services, investment management, or complex regulated environments
Strong understanding of risk frameworks and best practice
Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate clearly in plain English
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Proven experience designing and embedding controls
Self-driven with strong problem-solving and prioritisation capability
