Our client is a leading consumer focused financial services group with superb culture and a true people focus. They have won numerous awards over recent years and are an employer of choice. They currently have an exciting opportunity of a project accountant to join their high performance finance team to focus on finance partnering to a major IT Transformation program currently underway.

Reporting into the Senior Manager, Decision Support the role will focus on the following key areas:

  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of project expenses including variance analysis to budgets/forecast.
  • Ensure that invoices and resourcing are allocated correctly facilitated through transaction level reviews.
  • Design and establish automated reporting which is useful for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to wider group reporting including commentary and analysis.
  • Apply appropriate accounting treatment of all project costs.
  • Tracking of licences, maintenance and various other ongoing costs.
  • Process and review IT recharges to the transformation program and other projects
  • Be the finance contact and go to person for all financial support of the transformation program
  • Manage, design and provide financial tools, templates and schedules
  • Challenge costs and gain an understanding of underlying cost drivers
  • Provide a commercial lens across the program to ensure efficient use of investment is achieved
  • Develop a strong stakeholder relationship which is seen as being a trusted financial advisor.
This is a great opportunity for a qualified CA/CPA Financial analyst with exposure to project accounting or technology finance.  The role will initially be a 12 month contract but the program is due to run for a number of years so the role will likely extend until 2025

Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA Qualified
  • Experience in projects, transformation programs
  • Background in management reporting
  • Extensive computer skills in both hardware and software – e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word and Tm1
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with senior stakeholder
  • Self-motivation with a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated commitment to improve systems and processes
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adhere to deadlines
