The Role

You will play an integral part in a high-profile Wealth Divestment program as a Senior Project Risk Manager working as Line 1. You will supports the Program Director and Project Managers to identify, assess and manage risk and compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle. You will also have a key role to play in educating project teams in the risk requirements of the enterprise delivery frameworks, the risk management tools and policies, and driving a strong risk culture. 


Your Responsibilities
  • Assists Program Director / Project Managers to drive a strong, embedded risk culture that helps achieve the program objectives, built into day-to-day program delivery activities.
  • Establish and lead the development of mandatory program risk deliverables including the ongoing management of the program RAIDD (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies and Decisions) Register.
  • Support the program team to identify, assess, and document delivery risks arising from the program.
  • Work on the main risk register, identify key risks and mitigants.
  • Establish governance of day-to-day risk in program, including regular check points.
  • Prepare the Risk update for the Program Steering Committee and other Management Reporting.
  • Establish and lead ongoing engagement with 1st and 2nd line of defence Risk, Compliance, and Financial Crime specialists on behalf of the program.
  • Prepare impact assessments as instructed by the Program Director.
  • Facilitate workshops with Project, Risk, Compliance, and business representatives to identify and assess risk.
  • Monitor the Program’s adherence to enterprise requirements for managing risk in change as required.

The Requirements
  • Three years’ experience as a Senior Manager in Operational Risk, Project Risk, Audit or Risk Consulting in Financial Services.
  • Prior experience working with project teams in large-scale complex programs, either as a member of the project delivery team, or an aligned advisor/specialist contributor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of a wealth (or banking) business, the key applicable risk and compliance obligations, and the three lines of defence model.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to present to business and risk leadership (Head Of / General Manager level), and able to articulate and influence for risk-aware outcomes.
