The Program:
The objective of the APS 221 Large Exposures program is to update the bank's existing large exposure framework to align with the Basel large exposures framework (with several adjustments) as well as all associated systems, processes and documentation. This role will represent the Credit Policy business in the key decisions to be made as part of APS 221, support the business process and data point reviews, provide high quality Credit Policy advice in specific areas of expertise to the program team.


The Role:

 

 

  • Represent Credit Risk as a Subject Matter Expert and being a conduit back to the business to enable decision making representing the business

  • Review and sign off on Project documents including (but not limited to) Business Case, Business Requirements, Business Processes, Design , Testing and Implementation

  • Ensure compliance of policies and processes with credit risk management frameworks, approved business strategy and risk appetite and reflect regulatory requirements

  • Provide assistance to identify relevant controls to meet APS 221 obligations and standards

  • Attend project working group meetings and provide required inputs

  • Take leadership in developing trusted relationships with the Line and Credit teams as well as appropriate internal/external professional advisers to achieve the best outcomes for the Bank


Skill Requirements:

 

 

  • 10 years’ experience in Banking / Financial Services Industry with proven track record in Credit Decisioning and Credit Policy Writing / Development (ideally across multiple brands within one group)

  • Knowledge of the legal, compliance and regulatory framework of institutional and business lending

  • Proven ability in delivering strategic and operational plans to achieve excellent outcomes

  • Proven skills in organising, project management, effective problem solving and decision making

  • People management, training and coaching skills

  • Can operate with an agile and adaptable mentality and wouldn't hesitate to contribute across multiple programs / projects
