This APS 220 Transformation Program is to update the bank's existing credit risk management frameworks as well as all associated systems, processes and documentations in line with APRA's revised APS 220 Prudential Standards effective of 1st Jan 2021.

This role will support Credit Policy in the key decisions to be made as part of APS 220, support execution of critical BAU activities, support the business process and data point reviews, support decision making across interdependent programs and plan for technology build and implementation.


The Role:
  • Develop risk management frameworks, policies and procedures that simultaneously provide appropriate support to approved business strategy and risk appetite, set out sound risk management practices and reflect relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in provision of high quality Credit Policy advice in specific areas of expertise to the APS 220 program team and as part of BAU activities.
  • Represent Credit Policy as a SME and being a conduit back to the business to enable decision making representing the business.
  • Identify reporting / data requirements for Credit Risk liaising with Risk Reporting and Risk Analytics & Insights team.
  • Focus on short and long-term impacts that proposed new or varied frameworks and policies will have on the enterprise, including changes related to risk / reward and process efficiency, and consider alignment with approved strategy and risk appetite.
  • Ensure an appropriate balance is maintained between commercial considerations, risk and portfolio management objectives and regulatory requirements, whilst striving for continuous improvement and a high level of customer service.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of relevant controls to meet APS 220 obligations.
  • Develop working relationships with the Line and Credit teams as well as appropriate external professional advisers to achieve the best outcomes for the Bank

Skill Requirements:
  • 10 years’ experience in Banking / Financial Services Industry with proven track record in Credit Decisioning and Credit Policy Writing / Development (ideally across multiple brands within one group)
  • Knowledge of the legal, compliance and regulatory framework of commercial lending.
  • Proven ability in delivering strategic and operational plans to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Proven skills in organising, project management, effective problem solving and decision making - working across teams and in partnership with the business.
  • Strong training and coaching skills.
  • Can operate with an agile and adaptable mentality and wouldn't hesitate to contribute across multiple programs / projects.
