Our client a leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team on a 6 month contract with potential for extension. The role involves works in the Business Analysis & Finance team in leading some of the key projects currently undertaken, onle of them beigng a stimulus package.
Key responsibilities include :
Financial year end audit and financial statements for the client
Analysis of Accounting standards and adoption within accounts
Answering all Questions on Notice and Ministerial Reporting
Management project/financial reporting for key stakeholders including project managers, Finance Manager, and the Executive Team
External project/financial reporting for key stakeholders including Treasury and the Audit Office
Risks and Contentious Issues.
Utilise appropriate systems and processes to review, maintain and manage accounting and financial information with the end objective of facilitating a robust and consistent approach to financial management and reporting across the division and ensuring compliance with DPIE objectives, government policy, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
In order to be eligible for the role you will have :
Tertiary qualified and either working towards CPA or completed CPA
Strong numerical, verbal and communication skills
Self starter and ability to work with minimal
supervision
Ability to build good relationships
Ability to work and partner within AHO and also with cross agency stakeholders
Prior audit skills would be highly regarde
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadline
Strong initiative and interested in challenging work
System skills
Advanced excel required
SAP Knowledge (Preferable)
Trim (desirable)
