My client is a prominent financial services group specialising in the provision of banking and wealth management products and services, to a broad domestic and international customer base.

The role is responsible for managing the day to day end to end operational of project financials to provide quality and accurate and timely management reports, including financial support and guidance to be communicated through relevant stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the set up of new projects within the assigned portfolio to ensure project financials can be accurately measured;
  • Prepare project financial status reports and/or project steering committee pack with quality commentaries to Project Managers / Program Director and senior management. Lead forward looking financial insights to assist with project decision making;
  • Lead and work with stakeholders to provide robust project financial profiles and forecasts that support forecasting and planning processes, which include responsibility and accountability to validate business assumptions, cost variances and driver inputs;
  • Analysis of financial results leading to identification of opportunities and risk and maximum benefit realisation;
  • Prepare half yearly and annual project information for inclusion in the results pack;
  • Financial and business case modelling;
  • Extensive stakeholder management at a senior level (GM, CFO, Program Directors, CIO etc.);

This is a highly visible role which will be integral to the success of the team moving forwards. You will demonstrate the following key skills and experience:

  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with direct Project Accounting or PMO Finance experience;  
  • Industry experience from either Financial Services or large corporate/commercial sector considered;
  • Current or previous experience working in a Management Accountant and/or Finance Business Partner role will also be considered, if your experience has been gained in the Financial Services industry;
  • Strong relationship management skills with a proven ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders is an absolute must;
  • Balanced operational focus with a broader, big picture focus.
  • Worked in a challenging environment, e.g. rapidly changing, ambiguous and dynamic.
