Our client, a recently established NSW Government Department are looking for a Work Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on initial 6 month contract with potential for an extension.
As a WHS Advisor you will work with stakeholders across the Department to provide advice, strategies, guidelines and communication materials to improve organisation safety outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the team to provide health and safety advice, support, guidance and information to stakeholders and management
  • Provide advice and support to management and stakeholders regarding the implementation of WHS initiatives and improvements
  • Monitor and support incident reporting and investigation processes including workers compensation claims and assist in data reporting and analysis.
 Key skills required include:
  • Demonstrated verbal, negotiation and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively to management and employees, providing credible, accurate and professional advice
  • Analytical, research and interpretive skills, including the ability to effectively communicate across all levels
  • Sound knowledge of risk management principles, and ability to understand and apply WHS legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and communicate high quality WHS advice, reports, guidance and information.
