We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to join a leading Banking and Finance Organisation based in the Sydney CBD.
You will be joining an ongoing project focused on Automation Testing and API Testing. This role is responsible for testing a range of software products that are currently in development and will be using an array on tools and technologies within the automation testing space.

The Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Participating in test case design and documentation

  • Performing analysis of test automation effectiveness and product design discussions

  • Performing API Automation Testing

  • Completing a small amount of automation test tool and development

  • Generating and/or reviewing test requirements. Translating high level requirements into specific test requirements

  • Working with a range of software products C# and Java web and mobile applications

  • Identifying methods to automate software testing

  • Working closely with software developers to understand features and confirm correct operation

  • Analysing and measuring the effectiveness and utility of the tests and generating test reports

  • Participating as a member of a Scrum team

  • Learning and applying new tools, technologies, and industry best practices

What We Are Looking For

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications, experience and qualities: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 3 +years in software testing experience in test automation and API Automation

  • Familiarity with Scrum Agile software development

  • Familiarity with version control and release management

  • Strong understanding of software design and development understanding

  • Light skills in Java and C# (beneficial)

  • Experience with scripting languages applied to automated testing

  • A passion for excellence and the drive to complete tasks within the required time frame

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
