Our client is a leading insurance group and employer of choice. They have an urgent requirement within one of their core business unit finance teams for an experienced Senior Management Accountant or Senior Financial Analyst to join initially on a contract basis.  

Reporting to the Senior Finance manager for this key business unit, your deliverables will include:

  • Provide management reporting and analysis including month-end process
  • Assist with the provision and communication of budgets and forecasts for this portfolio focused on understanding baseline data and key business drivers and assumptions 
  • Assisting key stakeholders understand their portfolios’ performance and identifying future risks and opportunities. 
  • Contributing to finance deliverables including investor presentations, quarterly business reviews, performance review meetings
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships within the business and finance to build a strategic financial business partnering relationship 
  • Coordinate the GWP and customer reporting process for this portfolio including data analysis, commentary, and discussions with the business 
  • Co-ordinate provide price/volume data extraction and reporting relevant to this portfolio
  • Periodic review of authorised representative arrangements and payments
  • Perform regular cost allocation reviews and explaining how costs are allocated to P&Ls
  • Perform regular reviews of controllable expenses and assist where required with monthly expense process and periodic budgeting and forecasting of expenses
Required skills and experience:
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with minimum of 5 years post qualified experience 
  • Deep management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Significant experience within large complex financial services businesses (ideally insurance)
  • Excellent stakeholder management 
This role is initially a contract role although there is a lot happening within the finance team at present and there is a potential for it to become a longer term or permanent engagement.
