Our client a leading NSW Government Department are looking for a Senior Advisor HR Operations to join their team on a 12 month contract, there may be potential for the role to extend past this point.
The Senior Advisor, is responsible for supporting the business through providing a range of high quality HR services to the business, enabling them to effectively operationally manage its staff and address all people related issues.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the design, development and update of the Departments People and Culture policy framework in alignment with the award, public sector policy and programs.

  • Supervises end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including role description evaluation, recruitment, on boarding and off boarding etc. and coordinates participation in Government employment programs.

  • Management of Human Capital Managements (HCM) system and to ensure processing improvements are implemented and adopted by staff.

  • Management of all People and Culture committees and advisory groups including the implementation of all action plans, consultation processes, governance arrangements and membership training.

  • Drives continuous improvement of processes, policies, programs and systems to ensure best practise is reflected, legislative requirements are met and the staff experience is optimised.

  • Partner with the business to deliver HR projects, initiatives and reviews that directly support the clients strategic priorities.

  • Manage the delivery of internal and external reporting on People & Culture matters.

  • Provide responsive client focused information and advice to managers and employees on HR related matters.

  • Support operational delivery and stakeholder engagement through contributing to a variety of workforce communications, advice and publications.

  • Collaborate with team members on projects and priorities to ensure team deadlines are achieved to a high standard.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to direct reports.


In order to be eligible for this role you will have:

  •  Experience in a similar role ideally in NSW Government Environment

  • Experience in a similar role ideally in NSW Government Environment

  • Tertiary Qualifications in HR

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Experience with managing a HCM System
