Our client a leading NSW Government Department, are seeking a Project Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract (with high potential for the role to turn into an ongoing permanent position). 
 
The role oversees the tracking, implementation, integration and evaluation of a portfolio of strategic projects, initiatives and internal briefs across the Agency.

The role ensures that appropriate governance and project management arrangements are established to achieve outcomes and objectives set by the Chief Executive, particularly in relation to the Performance Framework.

The role will be based at Rozelle and will move to the new State Operations Centre in Sydney Olympic Park in the next 12 months.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Support the delivery of a portfolio of strategic priorities and building those priorities into the Performance Framework.
  • Support preparation, management and review of high level communications and correspondence
  • Enable effective implementation of strategic priorities and Performance Framework outcomes.
  • Draft advice, insight and dashboards for the Chief Executive and Directorates to better manage and minimise risks to the implementation of strategic objectives of the Chief Executive.
  • Draft implementation of strategies and performance expectations to deliver high quality outcomes and meet agreed performance targets.
  • Monitor organisational strategic and corporate planning activities to ensure planning milestones and reporting requirements are satisfied.
 

Selection Criteria
  • Excellent written communication, analytical and business writing skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Highly developed verbal communication and consulting skills, including negotiation, influencing and motivational skills.
  • Conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills for managing conflicting views and developing successful recommendations and advice on policies, strategies and solutions across complex areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships within a network and with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment
  • Proven high level proficiency in various software programs including Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
