This contract role has the WFH flexibility, being 2 days from home and 3 days in the office. 

Job Description

Accountability's:

Contribute to the financial transactions and/or management reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and other financial results to ensure compliance with approved accounting standards. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase networks and allow for exchange of information. ;

Attributes:

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Commerce with a major or sub major in Accounting and/or Finance, combined with a demonstrable intermediate level of role knowledge.(or equivalent skills and knowledge). Experience in an accountant role, and/or sound commercial acumen and understanding of general and transactional accounting, cost accounting and reporting. Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation. Competencies include; Interpersonal Ability, Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking, Technology and Process.

Applies intermediate knowledge in a specialist stream (job category) and advanced knowledge of several operational practices, to issues of differing complexity (routine to varied), where problem-solving can be required on difficult problems. Exercises independent judgement within defined practices and procedures. May instruct or coach others, direct projects or assignments.

The role is responsible for supporting the accounting, distribution and tax reporting across the funds platform, working with the Funds Finance business partners to meet their strategic objectives and compliance obligations, and fitting into the team where extra work is needed. 


This role will support the Finance team with the delivery of financial accounting, tax reporting, analytical and administrative activities. Someone with strong Excel, attention to detail, team player and positive attitude will be a great addition to    


This includes but is not limited to: 
  • Maintenance of general ledger / and trial balance for the assigned funds / mandates
  • Providing support to the Managers, Business Partners, Finance Team Lead, Transactional Services and Owners in the provision of financial information as required
  • Contribute, where possible, to the successful execution of finance improvement initiatives across the funds finance platform 

Must have skills & experience:
  • Account foundation and industry experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA or CPA qualifications
  • Financial accounting, management accounting - broad background


Nice to have skills & experience:
  • Experience with Oracle and TM1
  • Property or construction experience is preferable b/c work around these BU's

Assignment is full-time hours for 6 months (end date 28/02/2023) and will know in February if extension is possible. Candidate will have flexibility in the Barangaroo office 2-3 days per week, up to candidate to choose which days they prefer.
