Our client a Leading NSW Government Department are looking for an Executive Director, Financial Sustainability to join their team on a 12 month contract with high potential for extension.
The role will look after the overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy and is expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on these findings, with the most profitable outcomes. Managing and leading a team through difficult periods including month end, year end and annual budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of a Financial Sustainability Program Office, including strategic direction, priorities, program scope, governance and team membership.
  • Provide the vision, leadership and governance required to implement a financial sustainability framework and strategy that ensures the Organisation continues to deliver high-quality services and world class infrastructure.
  • Utilise benchmarking data to provide comparisons of the Organistaions cluster’s performance against other departments and the private sector, and identify best practice solutions which may have been applied in different environments.
  • Create the roadmap and lead the implementation of a program of initiatives that will drive financial sustainability across the cluster, including revenue and expenditure reforms.
  • Develop an integrated, and analytical, reporting framework to provide the business with progress visibility across Financial Sustainability initiatives across the business more broadly, to inform decision-making, identify trends, identify areas of risk and to develop solutions.
Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working at a senior or executive level in a complex organization delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership.
  • Stakeholder management expertise and experience to navigate through government processes combined with strong leadership skills with the ability to drive performance in complex, politically and commercially sensitive environment
  • A strong background in financial modelling, budget management, business performance analytics and governance.
