Our client a leading NSW Government Department, are looking for a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join their team in North Sydney on an initial 6 month contract with potential for an extension.

The Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer is responsible for providing specialist advice and services across stakeholder consultation, customer information issues management and digital strategies and other relevant support to assist in the delivery of the full range of communication and stakeholder engagement services within a designated place or project.

Key accountabilities

  • Partner with other members of the wider place/project communication teams to implement communications plan activities to time, cost and expectations.
  • Develop communication and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans, including the identification of educational and promotional information and draft communications to assist in the effective management of stakeholder information and engagement needs.
  • Develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of a range of events, workshops and stakeholder consultation activities including customer information, stakeholder consultation, internal communication, issues management and liaison with the media unit, and online and digital strategies to maximise stakeholder engagement and feedback.
  • Provide strategic advice and participate in the NSW Government communities of practice to improve and enhance the delivery of communication services to the community.
  • Deliver branch administration such as approval processes, invoicing and work in progress documents and monitoring and reporting on all communication and engagement activity.
  • Use the integrated communications project list and calendar to manage communications activities to time, cost and budget.

Key knowledge and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in communications within a government or services environment.
  • Demonstrated communications experience, including the development, implementation and evaluation of communications and engagement plans, print and electronic communication materials, supplier management, events management and communication administration function such as timelines and approval processes.
