Ethos BeathChapman have been engaged to help in the recruitment of an executive level role for a key state government department leading their IT strategy and architecture direction.
Lead the development and implementation of best practice ICT audit and risk management policy, standards and processes to effectively identify, mitigate and manage issues and risk and ensure compliance with business and legislative obligations.
The Group Director, Strategy and Architecture is responsible for ICT strategy, planning, enterprise architecture, standards and risk. Development and maintenance of a long-term roadmap. The Group Director, Strategy and Architecture also plays a central role in order to identify, mitigate and manage risk and develop and uphold technology and architecture standards. Strategic and collaborative relationships with vendors and outsourced development staff
Key responsibilities:
Drive leadership and governance of the technology strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with Departmental and whole of government objectives.
Work collaboratively with Directorates and other stakeholders to identify and define ICT business requirements
Recognise potential strategic application of ICT and ensure compliance with architecture and technology standards.
Undertake strategic horizon scanning and research, investigate and critically analyse new and innovative ICT solutions
Support improved operational effectiveness and the achievement of short and long term goals.
Work closely with the Finance Manager to monitor information technology spending
Drive the development and implementation of new systems, technologies, applications
Implement effective change management strategies and ensure alignment between existing and new systems/applications/technologies and between those developed in-house and by external providers
Preserve the integrity, reliability and functionality of departmental data, systems and infrastructure.
Establish, maintain and leverage value-based supplier relationships and direct and oversee the sourcing, delivery and monitoring of services, applications, data and infrastructure to meet strategic business objectives.
