  • Rate: $600 per day + super
  • Location: Darlinghurst (hybrid working)
We are partnering with a NSW Government agency to secure an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, compliance and policy across a busy Corporate Finance function. This is a short-term contract through to early August, with an immediate start preferred. You will provide technical accounting expertise, support statutory reporting obligations and contribute to the uplift of financial processes, controls and policies.

Key responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements and statutory reports in line with accounting standards and NSW Treasury requirements
  • Provide technical accounting advice across financial reporting, policy and compliance matters
  • Support the development and improvement of financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Monitor and review financial practices to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to uplift financial processes and reporting outcomes
  • Support statutory obligations including financial statements and taxation requirements
Key experience required:
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting within complex environments
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks (ideally NSW Government / public sector)
  • Experience providing technical accounting advice and supporting finance policy development
  • Ability to analyse financial data, identify issues and implement improvements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Essential:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting
  • CA / CPA (or working towards)
