Snr Cyber Security Engineer – Zscaler Specialist
About the Role
Our client, a large enterprise operating in a highly regulated industry, is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join their security team with a strong focus on Zscaler. You'll provide expert technical support across the organisation's Zscaler SASE platform (ZIA, ZPA and ZDX), ensuring secure, reliable and high-performing connectivity for the business. This role suits someone who is hands-on, technically strong, and comfortable being the go-to Zscaler expert within a broader security operations function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the subject matter expert for Zscaler ZIA, ZPA and ZDX, providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting and day-to-day platform administration
- Managing policy configuration, traffic steering, tunnel connectivity (GRE/IPsec) and PoP routing across the Zscaler environment
- Diagnosing and resolving complex connectivity, authentication, latency and application performance issues across endpoint, network and cloud layers
- Supporting Zscaler platform upgrades, maintenance windows and operational changes
- Contributing to Zscaler implementation and onboarding activities, including policy design, migrations and rollout of new capabilities (implementation experience highly regarded, though the core focus is technical support)
- Collaborating with network, security, endpoint and application teams to resolve SASE-related incidents and align on security policy changes
- Supporting compliance reporting, audit evidence and security posture reviews in line with a highly regulated environment
- Preparing incident trend and security posture reporting for internal stakeholders
About You
- Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA/ZDX) is essential — this is a Zscaler-focused role and prior platform exposure is a must
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry, with an understanding of frameworks such as Essential Eight and ISO 27001
- Solid grounding in network and security fundamentals — firewalls (Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto or similar), VPNs/IPSec, IDS/IPS
- Exposure to complementary security tooling such as SIEM, cloud security platforms, PAM or endpoint security is beneficial
- Zscaler implementation or migration project experience is a strong plus, but not mandatory
- Strong communicator, comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced enterprise environment
