An opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded finance professional to join a leading financial services organisation on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract. This role sits within a high-performing Finance team and offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, including Executive leadership.

You will play a key role in helping the business understand, monitor and manage its cost base by delivering meaningful analysis, forward-looking insights, and performance reporting that supports strategic decision-making.
This position is ideal for an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their FP&A, performance reporting, or expense analytics experience within a large and complex environment.

Working as part of a central finance team, you will provide driver-based analysis and insights across the organisation's cost base, supporting forecasting, planning, target setting and performance management activities.
You will partner closely with finance teams across multiple business units, transforming complex financial information into clear, actionable insights that influence business outcomes and support Executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver driver-based analysis of expense performance across cost categories, cost growth drivers and financial trends.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis against forecasts, budgets, targets and external benchmarks.
  • Develop clear commentary and recommendations for senior finance stakeholders.
  • Support planning, forecasting and target-setting processes through robust financial modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Contribute to Executive and Board reporting by producing high-quality financial insights and presentations.
  • Partner with divisional and business finance teams to improve performance management and decision support capabilities.
  • Maintain strong governance and controls across financial data, reporting outputs and analytical models.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and insight generation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance reporting and analytics.
About You:

My client is seeking a motivated finance professional with experience in FP&A, management reporting, or performance analysis within banking, financial services, or a large corporate environment.
  • Experience supporting planning, forecasting and financial performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into practical business insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
  • Exposure to TM1, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, Anaplan or similar planning and financial reporting platforms.
  • Experience performing variance analysis, scenario modelling and business performance assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders across finance and the broader business.
  • Experience working with BI and reporting tools and analysing large data sets.
  • CA or CPA qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Happy to consider individuals currently on a Working Holiday Visa.
