Ethos BeathChapman is partnering with a leading consumer finance organisation to appoint a Senior Compliance Manager to its Sydney-based Compliance function.
Operating within a highly regulated lending environment, this role will be responsible for overseeing the compliance framework, providing regulatory advice to the business and ensuring ongoing compliance with consumer credit obligations. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence regulatory strategy, compliance monitoring and governance outcomes across a dynamic financial services business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional with deep expertise in consumer credit regulation, regulatory change and compliance framework management within lending, banking, fintech or broader financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise on consumer credit regulatory obligations and compliance requirements.
Maintain and enhance the organisation's compliance management framework.
Lead compliance monitoring and assurance activities across lending and customer-facing operations.
Assess, manage and report compliance incidents, breaches and regulatory matters.
Support the implementation of new and changing regulatory obligations.
Provide compliance advice to senior stakeholders across product, operations, legal and executive teams.
Prepare compliance reporting for executive committees and governance forums.
Manage regulatory interactions and support responses to regulator enquiries.
Drive a strong compliance culture through stakeholder engagement, education and guidance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
7+ years' experience in compliance within financial services.
Strong expertise in the National Consumer Credit Protection Act (NCCP).
Demonstrated experience advising on consumer lending and credit regulatory obligations.
Practical knowledge of ASIC regulatory requirements and expectations.
Experience operating and enhancing compliance frameworks.
Strong compliance monitoring, incident management and breach reporting experience.
Experience managing regulatory change programs.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Highly regarded experience includes:
Responsible Lending Obligations (RLOs).
Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO).
Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF).
Privacy and Consumer Data Right (CDR).
Credit licensing obligations and ASIC engagement.
Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), consumer finance, unsecured lending, credit cards or personal lending products.
