The Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading FMCG organisation to identify a  Sales Operations Manager / Assistant Manager  to drive field sales effectiveness, retail execution excellence, and operational coordination across Singapore. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading the field sales team, strengthening retailer partnerships, and ensuring best-in-class execution across key modern trade channels.

The Role
Reporting to the Sales Leadership team, this  Sales Operations Manager / Assistant Manager  will oversee the day-to-day management of the field sales function, including merchandisers and sales representatives. The role will work closely with Key Account Management, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and retail partners to ensure strong execution, optimal stock availability, and consistent brand presence across key retailers.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the field sales team to drive performance, accountability, and execution excellence across retail channels.
  • Plan and optimise territory coverage and routing schedules to maximise productivity, outlet coverage, and service standards.
  • Conduct regular trade visits to monitor in-store execution, identify opportunities, and implement corrective action plans where required.
  • Manage performance frameworks, KPIs, and incentive programmes to support team engagement and achievement of sales objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade retailers, ensuring effective execution of promotional activities and retailer initiatives.
  • Lead negotiations for product listings, shelf-space opportunities, and space-buy renewals to strengthen brand visibility and availability.
  • Partner with retailer inventory planners, warehouse teams, and distribution centres to ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment.
  • Collaborate closely with Key Account and Trade Marketing teams to align execution plans, share market insights, and support retailer negotiations.

Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience within the FMCG industry, with proven success in field sales or retail execution leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing field sales teams, including merchandisers and sales representatives.
  • Strong understanding of modern trade operations, retailer requirements, and in-store execution best practices.
  • Experience working with major retail chains and managing stakeholder relationships across multiple levels.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate insights into actionable outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and performance reporting tools.
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a personal vehicle will be advantageous.
