Ethos BeathChapman is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing financial institution, to appoint a Fraud Analytics Manager to support the uplift and optimisation of fraud risk capability following a recent regulatory transfromation.

This newly created position will support the Head of the function in a stand-alone capacity and will be focused on hands-on fraud analytics, data interrogation and control optimisation within a first line environment. This opportunity is being offered o na 12 month fixed term contract initially. You will be responsible for designing and executing data driven fraud detections, strategies, improving rule performance and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectation.

What your day-to-day looks like;
Develop, test, and optimise fraud detection rules, scenarios, and models across transaction monitoring systems
Perform deep-dive analysis on large structured datasets to identify fraud typologies, trends, and control gaps
Use SQL extensively to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from core banking and payments systems
Conduct rule tuning and threshold calibration to improve detection rates and reduce false positives
Support ongoing compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring fraud controls are auditable and effective
Partner with Risk, Ops, and Technology teams to embed scalable, data-led fraud controls
Produce technical reporting and MI to support decision-making and risk oversight

What you will bring;
Strong experience in fraud analytics within banking or financial services Advanced SQL capability (must-have) with experience handling high-volume transactional data
Proven experience working with fraud monitoring systems, rule engines, or analytics platforms
Solid understanding of payments, transaction flows, and fraud typologies (e.g. scams, account takeover, card fraud) Familiarity with regulatory expectations for fraud risk and first line controls
Experience in data-driven control design and optimisation
