A great contract opportunity within a high-profile enterprise organisation in the CBD.

We're looking to engage an experienced Network Security Architect to lead the design and delivery of Cisco EVPN-VXLAN fabric build across 2 data centres.
Our client is a government-backed critical infrastructure organisation responsible for services that keep people and places safe. They are seeking a Principal Network Security Architect to join their Cyber Security Networks team on a 12-month contract.
You'll play a key role in a highly technical, collaborative team, joining a friendly, fast-paced, dynamic and diverse group who are passionate about protecting the communities they serve. The role is hybrid, with the team in the Sydney CBD office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some data centre attendance will be required to meet project needs.

In this role you will:

  • Complete the detailed design and implementation of a Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric between 2 data centres
  • Migrate critical applications from the legacy network to the new EVPN-VXLAN fabric
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and client stakeholders to deliver on agreed commitments and standards
  • Provide operational escalation support to the Network Operations Centre and Security Operations team
  • Support the business during and after cutover
  • Act as the Network Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) within project teams, providing guidance and expertise
What you'll bring:
  • Design and implementation of secure, resilient and scalable networks supporting critical government infrastructure and applications. Key technologies include routing, switching, Next Generation Firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC), public cloud and Application Delivery Controllers (ADC), with particular emphasis on Cisco switched EVPN-VXLAN fabric
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong design and as-built documentation skills, including up-to-date network diagrams
  • Outstanding ability to troubleshoot and manage incidents and problems relating to the migration
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps that align with organisational goals
  • Up-to-date knowledge of ICT, cyber security and cyber risk trends, and relevant industry certifications
  • A baseline security clearance, or the ability to attain and maintain one
